Crossmark Policy
Publisher: Pragma Journals LLP
Website: https://pragmajournals.org/
Policy applies to: All journals and scholarly content published by Pragma Journals LLP
Effective date: 9 October 2026
DOI: 10.47755/pragma-crossmark-policy-2026
1. Purpose
Pragma Journals LLP is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. This Crossmark Policy describes how the publisher handles corrections, retractions, withdrawals, and other significant post-publication changes to its published content.
Crossmark provides readers with a way to check the current status of a scholarly publication and identify updates reported by the publisher.
2. Scope
This policy applies to scholarly articles and other eligible publications published by Pragma Journals LLP across its journal portfolio. It covers content published online and, where implemented, corresponding PDF and other digital versions.
3. Corrections and amendments
When a published work contains an error requiring a formal correction, the publisher will assess the issue and, where appropriate, publish a correction notice linked to the original article. Significant changes will be recorded in the relevant publication metadata.
Minor typographical or formatting changes that do not affect the scholarly interpretation of a work may be corrected without a separate notice where appropriate.
4. Retractions
Where an article must be retracted, the publisher will assess the concerns and follow its editorial policies and applicable publication-ethics guidance. A retraction notice will be published when warranted, with a clear link to the affected article. The article's status will be updated in the relevant metadata where supported.
5. Expressions of concern and withdrawals
Where substantial concerns remain unresolved, the publisher may issue an expression of concern or another appropriate notice. Withdrawals will be handled according to the applicable editorial policy and the circumstances of the publication.
6. Post-publication updates
The publisher will register relevant updates with Crossref when required and technically supported by its membership and deposit arrangements. Update records will identify the affected publication and the nature of the update using the appropriate metadata relationships.
7. Crossmark implementation
Where Crossmark is implemented, the publisher will register its Crossmark policy page with Crossref, include the policy-page DOI in applicable content metadata, and display the Crossmark button on covered content in accordance with Crossref's requirements.
The publisher intends to apply Crossmark consistently to eligible current content covered by its participation. Readers should use the Crossmark status information and linked publication records to verify whether an item has been updated.
8. Responsibilities
Editorial teams are responsible for assessing post-publication concerns and deciding on appropriate editorial action. The publisher's metadata and production teams are responsible for updating publication records and submitting applicable metadata to Crossref.
The publisher will make reasonable efforts to ensure that significant updates are recorded promptly and that links between original works and update notices remain accurate.
9. Policy review
This policy may be reviewed and revised as publishing practices, editorial procedures, and Crossref requirements evolve. The current version will be maintained on the publisher's official website.
