Aim & Scope

What people eat shapes their risk of disease, their recovery from illness and, in hospital, sometimes whether they survive at all. The Journal of Clinical Nutrition and Health (JCNH) publishes research on nutrition as a clinical and public health tool.

We welcome work that is rigorous about measurement and honest about its limits: trials, cohorts, careful case reports and reviews that help clinicians, dietitians and policymakers make better decisions.

Scope

JCNH publishes original research articles, review articles, case reports and short communications in areas including, but not limited to:

  • Clinical nutrition and medical nutrition therapy
  • Enteral and parenteral nutrition
  • Malnutrition, undernutrition and micronutrient deficiencies
  • Nutrition in chronic disease, including diabetes, cardiovascular and kidney disease
  • Obesity and weight management
  • Maternal, infant and child nutrition
  • Nutrition in ageing and sarcopenia
  • Dietary patterns, nutritional epidemiology and public health nutrition
  • Food science relevant to health outcomes
  • Nutrition policy and food security

Peer Review

Every submission goes through double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the subject. The usual time from submission to first editorial decision is 12–14 weeks. See the Peer Review Policy for details.

Originality

All manuscripts are screened for similarity with iThenticate before they go to reviewers, as set out in the Plagiarism Policy.
