Aim & Scope
Much of what clinicians know about rare presentations, unexpected drug reactions and unusual courses of disease was first recorded in a single, carefully written case. The Journal of Clinical Case Studies and Reviews (JCCSR) exists to keep that tradition alive and to pair it with the reviews that turn scattered observations into usable knowledge.
We publish work that a practising clinician could learn from on Monday morning: well-documented cases across the specialties, case series that show a pattern, and reviews that make sense of the evidence around them.
Scope
JCCSR publishes original research articles, review articles, case reports and short communications in areas including, but not limited to:
- Case reports and case series across all clinical specialties
- Rare diseases and unusual presentations of common conditions
- Diagnostic challenges and clinical reasoning
- Adverse drug reactions and unexpected treatment responses
- Surgical and procedural cases, including complications
- Clinical images with teaching value
- Narrative, systematic and scoping reviews
- Clinical medicine in resource-limited settings
- Medical education drawn from clinical cases
